The snow can’t decide if it wants to stay or leave and I’m pretty sure its indecisiveness created this neat ice block. For the past 5 years (accidentally skipped 2016), Nich and I have gone out to the same spot by the Thames river to take photos. I had never initially intended on documenting my progress in such a way, but it happened organically and we’ve continued the tradition ever since. Not only has it been a way to track the progress within my body, but it has been even more interesting to observe the changes in my surroundings each year. Even though we are only a few months into 2019 I have never felt so comfortable with who I am and the direction I am headed. An added bonus is that this pose has never felt so effortless, yet still challenging, because hey, it’s kind of hard balancing on snow. I hope that wherever you are in life that you are able to enjoy the little milestones along the way and remember all the things that are difficult and challenging now may one day be effortless. It’s been so liberating to get back to creating and drawing, something I have always loved to do. I know I’m not the only one to let their passions fall back into the periphery to collect dust. Life guides us, pulls us, and pushes us in all sorts of directions and we often give into the expectations and realities of the day to day, yet so often at the expense of the little things that bring us joy. This is life; the important thing is find your path back to all those things that turn the wheels of your creativity and joy. Now remember, creativity takes on many forms; for me it is art, for you creativity might be music, or math, or something completely different. I guess what I am trying to say here is if there is something you are passionate about doing. Go and do it. Just start. Fail. Get up and try again. It’s doesn’t have to be pretty. Embrace the messy. I am thankful for my angels @oceaninspace and @theendisnich for encouraging and supporting me as I leap back into the creative realm.
